If I Love You...
If I love you:
- I will be patient with you
- I will be kind to you
- I will not be jealous over you
- I will not brag or put myself above you
- I will treat you with respect
- I will not seek my own good above yours
- I will not easily become angry with you
- I will not keep track of wrong things you have done
- I will not be happy over sin or misfortune in your life
- I will rejoice over the truth which I see in you
- I will bear your burdens with you
- I will always believe in you
- I will always hope for the best in your life
- • I will endure anything which comes into our lives together
The above is simply a personal application of I Corinthians 13 from the Bible. While love often includes some wonderful feelings, love itself is not a feeling. Love of the kind that one person should have for another, whether it is parent/child, siblings, good friends, or your spouse requires attitudes and actions. It isn't always easy, and sometimes there are no warm and fuzzy feelings, but having these attitudes and acting accordingly is what makes it love.
